Ayesha Sikander

Ayesha Sikander is a graduate student in the Media, Culture & Communication Department at the Steinhardt School at New York University. She completed her undergraduate degree in Communication Design in Pakistan. She previously worked in marketing at NCR Corporation and at UNICEF Pakistan as a freelance writer and photographer. Since 2003, Ayesha has also been involved in running a micro–credit project that focuses on empowering women in Pakistan. She intends to pursue a Ph.D. in media studies. Her research interests are Islam in the media, South Asian media and the effects of globalization on post–colonial nations.
